Persistent Waterlogging in Some North Chennai Areas Despite Receding Floodwater

While stagnant floodwater receded or was pumped out in many parts of north Chennai, certain areas continue to face waterlogging issues, even on the fifth day after Cyclone Michaung brought heavy rainfall to the city. Angalamman Koil Street in Pattalam remains partially waterlogged, and in Mahatma Gandhi Street, Chinnasekkadu, Manali, nearly 20 houses are still submerged.

Residents express frustration, citing delayed assistance and insufficient aid, including food supplies. Selavoyal in Kodungaiyur also reports ongoing waterlogging issues. The receding floodwater has brought additional challenges, as streets in Pulianthope and other areas have turned slushy, with accumulations of waste hampering the recovery process.
