Persistent Sewage Issues Plague North Chennai Despite Some Improvement
Despite some improvements in addressing sewage problems, north Chennai continues to face recurring issues related to sewage overflow and pipeline blockages. The densely populated areas in northern Chennai, including Perambur, Pulianthope, Choolai, Otteri, and Pattalam, still require a comprehensive solution to tackle sewage-related problems.
Residents highlight the significant gap between infrastructure and the needs of the population in these areas. To address the issue effectively, there is a need to replace the aging pipes, which were laid during British rule, with pipes having double their carrying capacity. While complaints are being addressed more regularly, residents are calling for a permanent solution to the ongoing sewage challenges.
