Persistent Leaky Manhole Raises Concerns in Kilpauk
A recurring issue with a leaky manhole in Kilpauk, located on the carriageway across from the Kilpauk fire and Rescue Services Station, has become a cause for concern. The manhole, part of the sewage conduit system along EVR Periyar Salai, has been observed leaking its contents onto the road consistently, creating an unsightly and unsanitary situation.
Despite recent attempts to fix the problem approximately 20 days ago, the issue has resurfaced. The frequent leakage poses challenges in a bustling section of the city, with the Kilpauk Medical College entrance and Kilpauk Metro station nearby. A mound of earth from the previous repair remains on the pavement, indicating the persistence of the problem and the need for a more permanent solution to address the leaky manhole.
