Perambur Barracks Road Junction Grapples with Sluggish Traffic Amid Ongoing SWD Work
Ongoing stormwater drain (SWD) work at the Perambur Barracks Road junction has led to sluggish traffic and challenges for traffic police personnel during rush hours. The central part of the junction has been occupied by SWD work, aiming to link stormwater drains on Perambur Barracks Road, Strahans Road, and Dr. Ambedkar College Road into a unified network.
The ongoing construction involves creating connections around the junction, further impacting traffic flow. Additionally, a stormwater drain line is under construction on Barracks Gate Road nearby. The SWD network in the area drains rainwater into the Otteri Nullah, which eventually joins the Buckingham Canal at Basin Bridge.
