Pedestrian Path Blocked by Storm Water Drain at Kilpauk

Walkers navigating the New Avadi Road-Halls Road junction in Kilpauk are encountering difficulties due to a storm water drain obstructing the footpath. The junction, known for heavy daily traffic flow, amplifies the inconvenience, especially with the narrow footpath on Halls Road. The presence of a pre-cast concrete drain without protective cover exacerbates the problem, hindering pedestrian movement.

Despite being installed over a year ago for storm water management, the drain’s obstruction remains unresolved. However, Ward 100 Councillor Vasanthi Paramasivam assures that steps are being taken to address the issue promptly, with plans to remove the obstructive channel within a week.
