Pastor Arrested for Sexual Harassment in Kancheepuram

In Kancheepuram, a 54-year-old church pastor, S. Devairakkam, was arrested on July 3, 2024, for sexually harassing a 14-year-old girl under the POCSO Act. The girl, a student at CSI Church High School, was residing on church premises after her mother’s death. Following a petition from the residents of Venkatesa Palayam, the Kancheepuram Child Protection Committee’s inquiry led to the pastor’s arrest and subsequent imprisonment.
