Palaniswami, AIADMK Team to Meet HM Shah Today in Chennai; Panneerselvam Yet to Get Appointment
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his senior party members will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Chennai today. The meeting is expected to focus on upcoming election strategies, alliance matters, and key political issues in Tamil Nadu.
The AIADMK team has prepared to discuss the party’s position and future plans with the BJP leadership. They want to strengthen their political ties ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Party leaders believe this meeting will help shape a stronger alliance and improve coordination between both parties.
At the same time, O. Panneerselvam (OPS), former AIADMK leader and rival of Palaniswami, is still waiting for an appointment to meet Amit Shah. OPS has already sent a request but has not yet received a time or confirmation. His team is hoping the BJP will give him a chance to present his views separately.
The division between Palaniswami and Panneerselvam has split AIADMK into two groups. Both leaders claim to represent the real voice of the party. BJP leaders have stayed neutral so far but are now expected to take a clearer stand.
Political experts believe today’s meeting could play an important role in deciding AIADMK’s direction in national politics. They also say the BJP may want to unite both factions to avoid confusion among voters. However, with both leaders refusing to back down, the situation remains tense.
Sources say Palaniswami will push for stronger control over seat-sharing talks, while Panneerselvam may ask the BJP to recognize his support base and role in the party’s history.
As the elections approach, every meeting and move becomes crucial. The BJP’s decision to meet one leader before the other may signal where its support lies. The next few days could bring big changes for AIADMK and its relationship with the BJP.
