Pakistani Woman and Minor Son Arrested for Illegal Entry into India
A Pakistani woman and her minor son were apprehended by the 41st battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while illegally entering India at the Indo-Nepal international border at Panitanki crossing in West Bengal’s Darjeeling district. Identified as Sayesta Hanif and her son Ariyan Mohammad Hanif, the duo confessed to entering India without a valid visa and related documents through the Panitanki border, boarding a bus from Kakarbhitta in Jhapa district, Nepal.
The SSB jawans, noting suspicious behavior, detained them, discovering valid Pakistani passports lacking the official visa seal for entry into India. The mother and son, residents of Karachi, Pakistan, held valid tourist visas for Nepal but lacked the necessary documents for entering India.
The police are now investigating the matter, including the woman’s claim of visiting her sister in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
