In response to the impact of Cyclone Michaung, the Health Department organized special mobile medical camps across Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram districts. A total of 92,810 individuals were screened over two days, with 12,162 treated for respiratory infections and 2,095 for fever. The initiative involved the deployment of 300 mobile medical units from western and southern districts, with 159 units in Chennai, 51 in Tiruvallur, 60 in Chengalpattu, and 30 in Kancheepuram.
On Wednesday alone, 307 special mobile camps treated 37,751 individuals, addressing various health concerns. The teams continued their efforts on Thursday, screening 55,059 persons across 332 camps. These initiatives aim to provide crucial medical support to flood-affected communities in the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung, prioritizing preventive care and addressing emerging health issues.
