Opposition Leader Criticizes Short Legislative Session in Goa
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao criticized the decision to summon only a six-day assembly session in the first half of 2024 in Goa. Alemao accused the BJP government of avoiding facing the Opposition by limiting the legislative session. He highlighted the government’s failure to fulfill commitments, citing data that revealed the implementation of only 34 percent of the budget announcements for 2022-23 and a projected worse performance for the current year.
Alemao emphasized the Opposition’s intention to address issues related to debate times, Calling Attention, and opportunities during the Business Advisory Committee meeting. He also called for action against officials providing incomplete or misleading replies to legislative questions.
