Operation Theatre for Cataract Surgeries Inaugurated at Tiruvottiyur Government Hospital

Health Minister Ma. Subramanian inaugurated a new eye operation theatre (OT) at the Government Hospital in Tiruvottiyur dedicated to cataract surgeries. Funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions totaling ₹55 lakh from MRF, the OT aims to provide essential ophthalmic care to the densely populated Tiruvottiyur area.

With a specialist now posted at the hospital, residents can benefit from cataract surgeries through this facility. The hospital, receiving nearly 850 to 900 outpatients daily, also acquired medical equipment, including a digital X-ray device, through a ₹20 lakh contribution from HPCL. Plans to increase the number of doctors for round-the-clock services and upcoming medical camps in Ennore were also discussed during the inauguration.
