The Tamil Nadu government has initiated oil spill mitigation efforts in Ennore Creek, deploying three gully sucker machines to remove floating oil and using oil-controlling booms in certain areas to limit the sludge’s spread.
The Environment, Climate Change, and Forests Department have set up a coordination center to oversee mitigation activities, with officials from various departments monitoring the cleanup operations. Specialized oil cleanup agencies have been mobilized to address the environmental impact of the spill.
