Officials caught prisoner with drugs in Puzhal Prison

Authorities at Puzhal Prison are investigating how a prisoner brought from M.K.B. Nagar police station for remand on Saturday night was found in possession of drugs. The prison officials are questioning two policemen from the M.K.B. Nagar station who accompanied the prisoner.

The arrested individual, Abinesh, was taken to Puzhal prison on charges of attempted murder. During a routine check at the prison gates, drugs were discovered in Abinesh’s trouser pockets.

The incident was captured on the prison’s closed-circuit television cameras, revealing that the two escorting policemen attempted to snatch the drugs from the prison officials. An inquiry has been initiated by the prison authorities to probe the matter further.
