NSG Conducts Mock Counter-Terrorism Exercises in Chennai
The National Security Guard (NSG), India’s elite counter-terrorism force, is conducting a three-day mock exercise in Chennai called GANDIV – V. This exercise simulates various terrorist attacks and responses in the city, involving multiple stakeholders including the Greater Chennai Police, Tamil Nadu Commando Force, Fire and Rescue Services, Greater Chennai Corporation, and others.
The exercise includes simultaneous attacks at seven locations and the triggering of blasts at three places. The aim is to enhance the capacity of the police force in crisis response. Public cooperation and calm are requested during the exercises, with helpline numbers provided for inquiries.
