North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited an aircraft plant in Russia’s Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur after his summit with President Vladimir Putin. Kim’s arrival was marked by traditional greetings for a special guest. The city houses two aircraft plants, the Yuri Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant, known for producing advanced warplanes like Su-35 and Su-57 fighter jets, and the Yakovlev plant, which builds short-haul passenger airliners.
Kim’s visit to Russia has raised concerns about potential military cooperation between the countries and the possibility of North Korea supplying ammunition to Russia for the conflict in Ukraine. Putin mentioned that Kim would also tour Russia’s Pacific Fleet in Vladivostok.
