North Chennai Bus Stands Undergoing Transformation for Improved Public Transport

Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) is set to revamp several bus termini in North Chennai, aiming to enhance public transport services across various zones in the city. The redevelopment plans include bus termini in areas like Agaram and Ambattur, with tenders finalized for 10 projects in North Chennai to upgrade basic infrastructure.

These improvements are expected to result in an increased number of buses in North Chennai, benefiting residents in zones such as Tiruvottiyur, Manali, Madhavaram, Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Thiru Vi Ka Nagar, and Ambattur. Multi-modal integration is also being proposed at the Toll Gate Bus Stand and Metro Rail Station to facilitate seamless connectivity, with potential plans to enhance the beach area as well.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has already initiated the redevelopment of the Thiru Vi Ka Nagar bus stand as part of these improvements.
