The 2023 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to Narges Mohammadi for her courageous efforts to combat the oppression of women in Iran and promote human rights and freedom for all. The Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo acknowledged her work and also recognized the hundreds of thousands of demonstrators who protested against Iran’s discriminatory and oppressive policies targeting women.
Mohammadi’s dedication aligns with the demonstrators’ motto, “Woman – Life – Freedom.” The Nobel Peace Prize, which has been awarded since 1901, has honored 110 individuals and 30 organizations, including notable recipients like Malala Yousafzai and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
