No privacy is left for anybody: SC
The Supreme Court on Monday remarked that “no privacy is left for anybody” as it heard the case of tapping of phones of Chhattisgarh”s Special Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Gupta and his family members.
A bench of Justices Arun Mishra and Indira Banerjee asked the Chhattisgarh government whether right to privacy of an individual can be violated in such a way.
Questioning the need for tapping of phone of senior police officer, the top court directed the Chhattisgarh government to file a detailed affidavit explaining who had ordered interception of the phones and the reasons behind it.
