Nine died in an airplane crash in Sudan
At least nine people were killed in a plane crash in eastern Sudan as the conflict in the country reached the 100-day mark. The crash occurred when a civilian plane, carrying four military personnel, crashed shortly after taking off from the airport in Port Sudan, a city on the Red Sea.
The military attributed the crash to a technical failure. A child was the sole survivor of the incident. The city of Port Sudan had previously been spared from the ongoing war between the military and the powerful paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
