A Nigerian national, Ikkenna Moses, was arrested in Bengaluru for defrauding a woman in Kalpetta of ₹18 lakhs by promising her a work visa for a medical coding job in Canada. The accused, working as a digital jockey programmer in Bengaluru, contacted the victim through a fraud email address and WhatsApp, offering the job opportunity.
After collecting the money, he booked a flight ticket to Canada from Delhi for the victim. When the accused demanded more money, the woman grew suspicious, discovered the fraud, and filed a complaint with the police. The police, aided by the cyber department, tracked and arrested Moses, seizing laptops, mobile phones, and SIM cards. Further investigations are underway to explore potential accomplices in the case.
