NIA Conducts Raids in Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad in Coimbatore Car Bomb Blast Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at 25 locations in Tamil Nadu and four places in Hyderabad in connection with the Coimbatore car bomb blast case that occurred on October 23, 2022. During the blast, a 29-year-old youth, Jameesha Mubin, lost his life. The raids also targeted the premises of a DMK councilor in Coimbatore, identified as Mubeera, who represents Ward no 82 in the Coimbatore corporation. It was revealed that Mubeera’s husband was a classmate of Jameesha Mubin at Kovai Arabic College, where the agency conducted a previous raid.

The NIA confiscated various documents, including incriminating evidence, and registered a new FIR related to the Tamil Nadu ISIS module case. The raids extended to locations in Ukkadam, GM Nagar, Kinathukadavu, Kavundampalayam, and more in Coimbatore, as well as Neelankarai, Ayanavaram, and Thiru Vika Nagar in Chennai. Simultaneous raids took place in Hyderabad as well regarding this case.
