NIA Arrests 12th Accused in Coimbatore Car Blast Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made another arrest in connection with the car blast that occurred in front of Sangameswarar temple in Coimbatore on October 23 last year. The recent arrest of Mohammed Idris (25) from G.M. Nagar near Ukkadam in Coimbatore brings the total number of individuals arrested in this case to 12.
Idris was known to be a close friend of Jameesha Mubin, the alleged mastermind behind the car blast at Kottaimedu temple. According to sources, Idris played a role in the criminal conspiracy that led to the car blast, resulting in the death of Mubin.
NIA investigators determined his involvement in the conspiracy by analyzing his call detail records and the confessions of other accused individuals. On Monday, Idris was summoned to the NIA’s temporary office in Coimbatore and directed to appear on Tuesday morning. After further questioning, the NIA arrested Idris and took him to Chennai.
