New timetable for 25 suburban trains scrap resent based on commuters reports says railway officials
Commuters in Chennai are expressing their discontent over the scrapping of 25 suburban train services in the new timetable. Railway officials justify the decision, stating that it is based on passenger patronage reports. Among the services removed are eight in the Tiruvallur-Avadi section, nine pairs of MRTS trains, and nine services in the Tambaram-Chengalpattu section.
Additionally, midnight trains in the Chennai Beach-Arakkonam sector have been canceled. The revised timetable, effective from July 14, has preserved the first and last train services on the four sections. However, officials from the Chennai division of the Southern Railway have made adjustments and discontinued certain intermediate trains, leading to dissatisfaction among commuters.
