The Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai is set to open a new neuroscience block featuring 220 beds, built at a cost of ₹65 crore. Spanning 1.12 lakh square feet, this four-floor facility will include departments for neuromedicine, neurosurgery, radiodiagnosis, and physiotherapy, along with six operation theatres and intensive care units.
Designed to improve patient care, the block will cater to the hospital’s daily influx of 10,000 to 15,000 outpatients. The initiative, announced by Health Minister Ma. Subramanian, underscores Tamil Nadu’s commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure.
