New eviction notices have been issued to Anakaputhur residents along the Adyar River

The Water Resources Department (WRD) has issued eviction notices to residents living along the Adyar River in Anakaputhur. A total of 427 structures in Thai Mookambigai Nagar, Dobikana Street, and Shanthi Nagar have received these notices. The residents have been given a week’s time to vacate their homes.

The move aims to address the issue of encroachments and ensure the safety and maintenance of the riverbank. The WRD is taking steps to clear illegal constructions and preserve the ecological balance of the Adyar River. Affected residents are urged to cooperate with the authorities during the eviction process.

They are advised to make suitable arrangements for alternative accommodation within the given timeframe. The eviction is part of the ongoing efforts to protect the natural resources and maintain the integrity of the Adyar River. The WRD will continue its efforts to enforce regulations and safeguard the environment in the region.
