The Nepali government has announced its decision to distribute food and relief materials to areas affected by the recent 6.4-magnitude earthquake in the Jajarkot and Rukum West districts. The relief distribution, which includes food and tents, will commence immediately, and the government will cover the costs of treatment for the injured, said Minister for Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet.
The earthquake, which struck on Friday night, has claimed the lives of 157 people and left 170 others injured. While there were discussions about providing financial support to families who lost members in the quake, no decision was made during the cabinet meeting. The government is also evaluating offers of support from friendly nations before accepting them.
