Neglected Cyclone Damage: Chennai’s Valluvar Kottam Roadside Garden Awaits Repairs
The aftermath of Cyclone Michaung is still evident along Valluvar Kottam Road in Chennai, where a roadside garden adjacent to Valluvar Kottam remains in disrepair. The cyclone had caused damage to the compound wall and grilles of the garden, creating a hazard for pedestrians.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has yet to address the issue, leaving the bent grille and protruding wall unattended. The unsafe condition persists, posing a risk to passersby, with no signs of repair work initiated as of the latest visits by The Hindu Downtown on January 23 and 26.
