The Tamil Nadu government has granted approval to the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Limited to engage the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in setting up a two lakh litres per day hi-tech dairy in Namakkal on a turnkey basis. The cost of the project is Rs. 89.29 crore.
This initiative aims to ensure the livelihood and economic upliftment of milk producers in Namakkal district, meeting the future demand of consumers and the milk processing industry. The project has been entrusted to NDDB due to its public sector status and expertise in executing dairy infrastructure projects for co-operatives, according to the state government.
