NCB Busts International Drug Syndicate, Arrests 7 Including Six Nigerian Nationals

In a significant operation, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chennai has dismantled an international drug syndicate, resulting in the arrest of six Nigerian nationals and one resident of Chennai. The NCB Zonal Director, P. Aravindhan, revealed that the syndicate had criminal connections and was involved in procuring drugs from abroad.

The illicit substances were then transported from Delhi to Ahmedabad before reaching Chennai via Bengaluru by bus. The initial breakthrough came when NCB officers apprehended a Royapettah resident, confiscating 7.45 grams of cocaine and 7.20 grams of MDMA pills. It was determined that he had obtained the drugs from unnamed Nigerian nationals in Bengaluru. This led to further arrests, with three Nigerian nationals taken into custody upon their arrival from Bengaluru at Koyambedu, accompanied by the seizure of 407 grams of amphetamine and 138 grams of MDMA pills.
