In a first-of-its-kind initiative, 30 graduates recruited by the National Zoological Park in New Delhi are undergoing a two-week capacity-building program at the Arignar Anna Zoological Park (AAZP) in Vandalur. Led by AAZP Deputy Director H. Dileep Kumar, the training covers a diverse range of topics including animal ethics, enclosure concepts, and wildlife handling methods.
These recruits, selected through the national-level Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff examination, will receive formal training akin to practices in Western countries. Alongside classroom sessions, the trainees will engage in hands-on tasks and field visits to enhance their understanding of animal care and conservation practices.
