The Chennai Bus App, a popular tool providing real-time information on Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses, is soon set to broaden its user base. While already boasting over five lakh users on the Android platform, the MTC plans to launch the app on iOS devices by the first week of December. Developed on the Locate and Access My Bus (LAMB) platform, the app utilizes GPS equipment installed in MTC’s fleet of over 3,350 buses, offering commuters valuable insights into bus timings and routes.
The app has proven beneficial, especially for those arriving from other states. The MTC officials confirm that the iOS version has been developed and undergone testing, marking an expansion of the app’s accessibility.
The move aligns with the commitment to enhance public transportation experiences and has received support from the newly-appointed MTC Chairman and Managing Director, Alby John, who actively promotes the Chennai Bus App on social media for better utilization of MTC bus services.
