Monsoon Rain Triggers Tragedy in Pakistan: 14 Killed and 7 Injured
At least 14 people lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries in rain-related incidents across Pakistan during the past two days, as reported by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Saturday. The casualties were reported in various regions, with six deaths in Hyber Pakhtunkhwa, five in Balochistan, two in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and one in Sindh.
The country experienced a continuous heavy monsoon rain spell for the fifth day, leading to devastating consequences, especially in hilly regions. The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a red alert, warning of more heavy monsoon rains in upper and central parts of the country until July 30, posing a risk of further flooding and landslides.
