Minibus Explosion in Somalia Kills Six, Including Children

A tragic incident in southern Somalia’s lower Shabelle region resulted in the death of at least six passengers, including three children, and left 12 others injured. The victims were traveling in a minibus from Marka city to Qoryoley town when the vehicle ran over an explosive device planted along the road.

Governor Mohamed Ibrahim Barre of the Lower Shabelle region stated that the act is believed to be the work of the extremist group al-Shabaab. Although sources suggest higher casualty figures, no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
