Millet-Fish Combo Promotion: CMFRI Organizes Millet-Fish Festival in Kerala

The Ernakulam Krishi Vigyan Kendra of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) is spearheading efforts to establish a market value chain for millets in Kerala and promote the fusion flavors of millet-fish combinations as a balanced diet. The Director of CMFRI, A. Gopalakrishnan, highlighted the high potential of millets and fish as a nutritious diet for the diverse Kerala cuisine. To create awareness and popularize these dishes, the institute is organizing a millet-fish festival from December 28-30.

The festival aims to bring together millet farmers, farmer producer companies, agri-startups, fish processors, traders, fish enthusiasts, and consumers. Additionally, the event will feature a buyer-seller meet, providing a platform for direct engagement between traders, consumers, and primary producers of top-quality food and agricultural products. Authentic ingredients from the ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research in Kozhikode will enhance the taste of millet-fish combo dishes during the festival.
