In a heightened anti-militancy operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, security forces, including the Army and CRPF, engaged in a fierce gunfight with militants in the Gandoh area.
The operation, triggered by twin terrorist attacks earlier in June, resulted in the spotting of a suspected militant’s body at the encounter site. Ongoing efforts continue to flush out two to three militants believed to be hiding in the Sinoo area, suspected to be linked to recent attacks on security checkpoints. Drones have been deployed to monitor the area and prevent any potential escape by the militants.
