In a significant outreach during Navratri, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh will organize a ‘kanya pujan’ (girl worship) event for 11,000 girls from various communities, with a specific focus on backward, extremely backward, tribal, and Vantangiya groups. The program, named ‘Shakti Vandan,’ is part of the Mission Shakti campaign and aims to mark its place in the Limca Book of Records for holding the largest kanya pujan.
Scheduled for Mahashtami on October 22, the event will provide a grand feast and hygiene kits to the participating girls. Additionally, Nav Devi Awards will be presented to exceptional women in various fields to honor the nine forms of Goddess Durga. This initiative aligns with the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ mission, advocating for the education and empowerment of every girl.
