Massive Fire Engulfs Bike Showroom in Vijayawada, 300 Two-Wheelers Destroyed

A devastating fire broke out in a bike showroom in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the destruction of around 300 two-wheelers. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident, which is believed to have been caused by a short circuit. The fire originated in a TVS showroom and godown located in the KP Nagar area off the Chennai-Kolkata national highway.

Starting on the first floor of the showroom, the flames quickly spread to the adjacent godown. Fire services were alerted, and five fire engines were dispatched to the scene. The fire’s rapid spread was attributed to the pre-fabricated structure and the presence of electric two-wheelers in the godown. The showroom, godown, and service center were situated in the same vicinity, leading to the significant loss of vehicles.

Authorities suspect that the fire might have been triggered by a short circuit during the charging of electric two-wheelers. The estimated loss to the showroom owner is around Rs 15 crore. An investigation is underway, and a case has been registered by the police.
