Mass Release of Prisoners in Telangana Promotes Rehabilitation
In a significant move towards rehabilitation, Telangana released 213 convicts from 13 prisons, including 35 women, at Cherlapalli Central Prisons, Hyderabad. Many of the released inmates were offered job opportunities, with 70 positions allocated at ‘My Nation’ petrol bunks, emphasizing their reintegration into society.
Additionally, sewing machines were distributed to aid the transition for eight women convicts. The initiative also includes provisions for higher education through Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, marking efforts towards the inmates’ reformation and societal reintegration.
