A viral video of a man in Dakshina Kannada district is generating debate as he urges for special prayers for the success of the Hamas militant group against Israel. In the video, the man identifies himself as Zakir, a member of Khabarstan Premi Sangha from Mangaluru, and calls for ‘duwa’ (special prayers) for Palestine, Gaza residents, and Hamas soldiers.
Dressed in a manner resembling a Taliban member and holding a religious scripture, Zakir claims to be a resident of Mangaluru’s Bandar area. The video has raised concerns in the communally sensitive Dakshina Kannada district, although the police have yet to respond to the situation.
