The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Assam Police have arrested an individual, identified as Md. Noor Hussain, for his alleged involvement in a bomb blast in Manipur. The blast, which occurred on June 21, involved an IED-laden Scorpio vehicle placed on a bridge located along Tiddim in Bishnupur district, injuring three people and causing damage to the bridge and nearby houses.
Based on intelligence input, a joint operation was conducted in Silchar by the NIA and Assam Police to apprehend Noor Hussain, who hails from the Banskandi area in Cachar district but had moved to Kokta in Bishnupur district, Manipur, several years ago.
Hussain had been born and raised in Kokta. The NIA team had been searching for him when he visited his uncle’s house in Banskandi a few days ago and subsequently took refuge in another house in the district.
