The cyber crime wing of the police arrested C. Periyasamy, 34, in Udumalpet on Tuesday based on a complaint from a woman police constable.
The constable alleged that Periyasamy harassed her over the phone on April 24, pretending to be a senior police officer offering a promotion opportunity. Further investigation revealed that Periyasamy had been involved in impersonation and making abusive calls to multiple individuals.
