Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Daughter in Assam’s Cachar District

In Assam’s Cachar district, a man named Najir Uddin Laskar has been arrested on charges of killing his six-year-old daughter, Ayesha. The incident occurred in Lathigram village, and Laskar’s wife, Farida Begam, filed a complaint, alleging domestic violence and her daughter’s disappearance. According to Farida, Laskar beat her severely after she had to go to her mother’s house on September 21.

The next day, she learned that he had sold their daughter. A missing case was filed, and Laskar was arrested on September 23. Locals found Ayesha’s body near a drain, and it was sent for post-mortem. Farida Begum is demanding capital punishment for the accused. Laskar has been remanded in custody for three days.
