Male Tiger Safely Navigates Towards Papikonda National Park through Nallajerla Reserve Forest
A male tiger, initially sighted by locals in a maize field on January 26, has successfully entered the Nallajerla Reserve Forest in Eluru district, progressing towards its natural habitat at the Papikonda National Park (PNP). Forest Department personnel have been actively tracking the tiger’s movements, identifying pug marks in the Challa Chintalapudi village.
The tiger, which has not harmed any cattle, has been walking at an average speed of 3 km per day, navigating through oil palm fields and canals of the Godavari River. The rescue operation is by the Tiger Conservation Protocol, with authorities pledging compensation for any cattle losses and urging local communities to refrain from harming the tiger. A team of experts is working to guide the tiger safely back to its habitat without resorting to tranquilization unless necessary.
