Madras Medical Mission Earns U.S. Recognition for Advanced Cardiac Procedures

Cardiologists at the Madras Medical Mission (MMM) have been lauded in U.S. journals for their successful execution of two advanced, minimally invasive heart procedures. These procedures, stuck valve dilation and transcatheter closure of superior sinus venosus defects, address complex heart conditions without traditional surgery.

Dr. Ajit Mullasari’s team innovatively tackled mechanical valve leaflet obstruction via a transcatheter method, reducing the risks associated with traditional treatments. Meanwhile, Dr. Sivakumar’s team employed covered stents for treating sinus venosus defects, enhancing the safety and effectiveness of the procedure. Their pioneering work has been featured in prestigious American cardiology journals, underscoring MMM’s global impact on cardiac care.
