After a prolonged struggle spanning three and a half years, 71-year-old farmer Gowramma from Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu has finally obtained a power supply for her agricultural field. Facing challenges due to the land being locked on three sides by two companies and a road running inside Karnataka on the fourth, Gowramma’s family had applied for a power connection under the Tatkal scheme by paying ₹4 lakh.
When obstacles persisted, they approached the Madras High Court. Justice Anita Sumanth directed Tangedco to take the necessary steps to ensure power supply. With the cooperation of the companies and Tangedco, the power lines and transformer were shifted, enabling Gowramma to access the water she desired for her agricultural activities.
