Madipakkam residents suffered for months from dug-up roads for civil work
Residents of Madipakkam in Chennai have faced prolonged hardship due to dug-up roads caused by civil works. Metrowater has conducted road cuts on a total of 285 roads to facilitate domestic sewerage and house connections. The Corporation has already finalized tenders for the first set of 153 roads and is actively working on the remaining 132.
However, residents have expressed concerns about the substandard work quality and inadequate safety measures at the construction sites, posing risks to both pedestrians and motorists. With Metrowater undertaking infrastructure development on 219 roads, the community is demanding improved workmanship and enhanced safety precautions.
Authorities are urged to address these concerns promptly and ensure the timely completion of the project to alleviate the inconvenience faced by residents.
