Residents and motorists on Madipakkam Main Road in Greater Chennai have been enduring a nightmare due to its deplorable condition for over a decade. The road, which connects Medavakkam Main Road with Ponniamman Koil Street, has been ravaged by constant digging by utilities, leaving it pockmarked with potholes.
Despite serving as a bustling shopping destination, the road’s terrible state has led to numerous difficulties for residents and shoppers alike. Although the Chennai Corporation recently attempted repairs by adding gravel, residents complain that even a single spell of rain is enough to undo the work. While officials promise a proper bitumen road by next month, locals have grown disillusioned by the lack of progress in the past decade.
