Leopard that Fatally Mauled Girl Near Tirumala Temple Caught
The leopard responsible for the tragic death of a six-year-old girl on the Alipiri footpath route to Tirumala temple has been captured by forest department personnel. The animal was trapped in a cage near Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple, the same location where the fatal attack occurred three days prior.
During its capture, the leopard sustained minor injuries. It will be transferred to Tirupati SV Zoo Park for treatment and evaluation by experts to determine if it has turned into a maneater. Following this incident, security has been heightened along the footpath route, and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has prohibited pilgrims with children under 15 years of age from trekking after 2 p.m. on both footpath routes to the temple.
