The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala has announced plans to stage a protest in Delhi in January, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The decision comes in response to what the LDF perceives as an “anti-Kerala policy” by the central government. Various state ministers, including Vijayan, have criticized the Centre for its alleged discriminatory approach towards Kerala.
State Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal highlighted the Centre’s delay in releasing over Rs 58,000 crore owed to the state. The protest aims to draw attention to Kerala’s grievances and financial challenges, with seminars planned across the state as a precursor to the Delhi demonstration.
