Kim Jong-un’s Daughter Frequently Attends Military Events in North Korea
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s daughter, Ju-ae, has been prominently featured at military-related events, appearing on 15 occasions since November 2022, according to South Korea’s Unification Ministry. The ministry reported that 80 percent of her appearances were at military events, while she attended events related to the economy and social affairs on three occasions.
Ju-ae believed to be around 11 years old, made her first public appearance in November 2022 at a missile launch event. Her presence has been seen as an attempt by Kim Jong-un to highlight his achievements in the military sector and secure loyalty from the armed forces.
However, South Korea’s spy agency noted that it’s premature to consider Ju-ae as a hereditary successor, given North Korea’s patriarchal society and the potential existence of Kim’s eldest son among his children.
